How the Ram 1500 builder works

This Ram 1500 builder plans aftermarket parts for a truck you own or are about to buy. It is not Ram's factory build-and-price tool, which picks trims and options on a new truck. It is where you work out what to bolt on, what it should do, and what it costs, before you spend anything.

  1. Start with your year and engine

Pick the year and engine of your Ram 1500 and the list narrows to parts that fit it, checked against real fitment data. A few optional questions about your setup narrow it further. Skip them and you see everything that fits the year and engine.

  2. Stack parts on the dyno

Every part you add moves the horsepower and torque readout and your running build cost. The readout is an estimate for a 2WD truck, added up from the labeled figure on each part. It is not a promise about your truck on a particular day.

  3. Every gain says where it came from

Each gain is labeled as a manufacturer claim, a community estimate, or an independent dyno test. Nothing is invented.

  4. The cheapest price we hold

Each price is the lowest one on file at a named retailer, and the buy button goes to that same retailer. Prices move, so confirm the total at checkout.

  5. Plan to a budget

Tell the builder a goal and a dollar amount and it fills a list from parts that already fit your truck, at the prices shown today. Add the whole list in one tap, then swap anything you would rather not run.

  6. Check what it adds up to

At checkout the builder lists what a part's maker says you also need that is not in the box, and a payload meter adds up the makers' listed shipping weights against the payload on your door sticker.

The Ram 1500 has 349 parts on file across 33 categories. Want to read before you build? Browse the Ram 1500 catalog for every part with its price and where that price came from, or read the build guides for parts that work together. Nothing here is a guarantee, and parts flagged for warranty or emissions deserve a conversation with your shop first.
