Ford Ranger Suspension Guide: Leveling Kits to Coilovers
Ford, Ranger
Every active Ford Ranger suspension part in the catalog for both generations, 2019-2023 and 2024-2026 including Raptor-specific hardware: leveling kits through race coilovers, plus the control arms and diff-drop bracket a bigger lift usually needs. Ranger had zero guides on the site before this one, despite 85 active priced Suspension parts, the deepest single category on the platform for this truck. Guide shape (single category, not a broad build) follows the content grader's finding that single-category comparison guides outperform broad where-to-start builds (row 106).

The Ford Ranger has two very different generations on the road right now, the 2019-2023 truck and the redesigned 2024+ Ranger, including the Raptor, and the aftermarket has caught up on suspension for both. This guide covers one category only: suspension. Leveling kits, shocks, coilovers, and the control arms that go with a bigger lift. It is not a full build guide, so you will not find intake or exhaust parts here. If you want ride height and handling, this is the whole menu.

| Option | What actually changes | Best if... |
|---|---|---|
| Leveling kit | Ride height only, stock shocks and springs stay | You want bigger tires and stock ride is already fine |
| Shock upgrade | Ride height plus how the truck absorbs bumps | You tow, haul, or drive rough roads often |
| Coilover kit | Ride height, damping, and often ride-height adjustability | You're building for trails or want the ride dialed in |
Leveling kits: the cheap first step
A leveling kit is the entry point for almost every Ranger owner. It closes the factory rake (Rangers, like most trucks, sit slightly lower in front than the rear from the factory) and opens up room for a bigger tire. It does not touch your shocks or springs, so ride quality stays about what it was from the factory, for better or worse.
Truxxx Direct sells nearly identical kits for both generations, from 1.5 to 3 inches: Truxxx Direct 2019-2023 Ford Ranger Pickup 2WD and 4WD - 2" Leveling Kit #101018 for 2019-2023 trucks and Truxxx Direct 2024-2026 Ford Ranger Pickup 2WD and 4WD - 2" Leveling Kit #101029 for 2024-2026. Tuff Country's front-only kit, Tuff Country Tuff Country 19-23 Ford Ranger 4WD Only Front 2in Leveling Kit - Black Powder Coat, covers the same 2019-2023 window on 4WD. Traxda's Traxda 3" Leveling Kit 2019-26 2WD/4WD Ford Ranger is the one leveling kit in the catalog rated for both 2WD and 4WD across both generations at once.
Shocks: when you want the ride to actually change
A leveling kit changes height. A shock changes how the truck handles a pothole, a load in the bed, or a trailer on the hitch. If your stock shocks are worn or you tow often, this is the upgrade that matters more than height.
Rough Country's monotube shocks, like Rough Country 6.5-8" Rear Pair Rough Country M1 Monotube Shocks, 19-26 Ford Ranger 4WD, are sold as matched rear pairs and fit both generations, 2019 through 2026, 4WD. Skyjacker's Skyjacker 3-4" Rear Skyjacker ADX M2.0 Aluminum Body High Pressure Nitrogen Gas Charged Monotube Shock Pair, 19-26 Ford Ranger 4WD covers the same span. Bilstein's Bilstein Bilstein 2024+ Ford Ranger B8 5100 (Ride Height Adjustable) Front Shock - 0-2.5in Front Lift is ride-height adjustable and built specifically for the 2024+ truck. ICON's ICON Vehicle Dynamics ICON 2019+ Ford Ranger 0-1.5in Rear 2.0 Series Aluminum Shocks VS RR is an aluminum-body rear shock for the 2019-2023 generation, for owners who specifically want the aluminum construction over a standard steel-body shock.
Coilovers and packaged kits: the serious end
A coilover replaces the strut assembly entirely and usually gives you an adjustable ride height along with real damping control. This is where a build stops being "leveled" and starts being "set up."
Eibach's Pro-Truck Coilover 2.0 covers both generations: Eibach Eibach Pro-Truck Coilover 2.0 Front Coilovers +0-3.75in Lift For 2019-2023 Ford Ranger 2.3L EcoBoost 2WD/4WD for 2019-2023 and Eibach Eibach 24-25 Ford Ranger 4WD Pro-Truck Coilover 2.0 Front Coilovers for 2024-2025 4WD. FOX has a matching pair, FOX Shocks FOX® 2.0 Perf IFP Front Coilover 0-3in Lift for 2019-2023 Ranger 985-02-133 for the older truck and FOX Shocks FOX® 2.5 Perf HD IFP Front Coilover 0-3in Lift for 2024-2026 Ranger 987-02-006 for the new one. If you want a packaged setup instead of piecing it together, Eibach's Stage 2R kit, Eibach Eibach Pro-Truck Lift Stage 2R Coilovers and Reservoir Shocks +0-3.75in Lift For 2019-2023 Ford Ranger 2.3L EcoBoost, bundles front coilovers with rear reservoir shocks for 2019-2023 trucks. Roush sells its own branded FOX-based kit for the same generation, Roush Performance Products, Inc. 2019-2023 Roush Ranger Fox Suspension Kit. At the top of the catalog, TSP's TSP PARTS ADS Direct Fit 2.5" Reservoir Race Coilovers - 2019-2023 Ford Ranger is a direct-fit ADS reservoir race coilover built for real off-road use, not daily-driver comfort.
Control arms: the part people skip and shouldn't
Past roughly 2.5 to 3 inches of front lift, the factory upper control arm runs out of usable travel and the ball joint starts binding at full droop. This is not optional once you're in that range, it is how you avoid premature wear on a new lift.
Camburg's uniball kit, Camburg Camburg Engineering Performance Uniball Upper Control Arm Kit - 2024-2025 Ford Ranger, is built for the 2024-2025 truck. Superpro's Superpro SuperPro 19-23 Ford Ranger Geometry Correction Front Upper Control Arm Set is labeled specifically as a geometry-correction arm for the 2019-2023 generation, which tells you exactly what problem it's solving. Rough Country's Rough Country Rough Country Upper Control Arms 3.5" Lift for 2024+ Ford Ranger 2WD/4WD is sized for a 3.5-inch lift on the new truck. If you're running a 4WD Ranger with a taller lift, check whether you also need a front differential drop. MaxTrac's MaxTrac Suspension 2019-2023 RANGER 4WD 2.5″ FRONT STRUT SPACERS W/ DIFF DROP BRACKET bundles the drop bracket with the strut spacer for 2019-2023 trucks, which is the kind of part that's easy to forget and expensive to discover you needed after the fact.
Timbren's Timbren Timbren 2019 Ford Ranger Rear Active Off Road Bumpstops is a different category entirely: a rear bumpstop upgrade for the 2019 truck, aimed at owners who load the bed heavy or tow near the truck's limit and want less bottoming-out, not more lift.
If you're in a 2024+ Raptor
The Ranger Raptor ships with factory long-travel suspension and, on some trims, Fox Live Valve adaptive shocks. It does not need a leveling kit the way a base Ranger does. What the catalog has for it instead is mostly protection and travel extension: Foutz Motorsports builds a deep lineup of Raptor-specific hardware, including a spring collar kit for small height changes, Foutz Motorsports LLC 2024+ Ranger Raptor Spring Collar Lift Kit - 1.5",2" & 2.5" lift, and a full mid-travel front suspension kit for owners pushing well past stock, Foutz Motorsports LLC 2024+ Ranger Raptor - Mid Travel Front Suspension Kit. ICON's coilover spacer kit, ICON Vehicle Dynamics 24-25 Ford Ranger Raptor ICON IVD6140 Front Coilover Spacer Kit - 2.25in Lift, is a smaller step for a 2.25-inch lift. FOX's billet upper control arm, FOX 24-26 Ford Ranger Raptor Fox 803-35-020 Billet Upper Control Arm - Black, replaces the factory arm for owners running a long-travel setup. None of this is beginner territory. If you're new to the Raptor's suspension, this is a conversation with a shop that's built one before, not a solo driveway project.
What to check before you order anything
- Confirm 2WD versus 4WD. A meaningful share of Ranger suspension parts are drivetrain-specific, and a 2WD kit will not bolt to a 4WD truck or the reverse.
- Match the part to your exact generation. 2019-2023 and 2024-2026 Rangers do not share suspension components, even where a brand sells a similarly named kit for both.
- Budget for an alignment after any suspension change. Skipping it is how a fresh lift eats a set of tires in one season.
- Above roughly 2.5 to 3 inches of front lift on a 4WD, plan on a control arm and possibly a diff drop, not just the lift kit itself.
One more thing, and it's not a small one: ride height changes can affect headlight aim, and some states have rules about maximum lift height, bumper height, or tire coverage for street-legal trucks. None of that is settled here. Check your state's specific rules or ask a shop before you commit to a big lift, and don't take anything in this guide as legal advice on what's road-legal where you live.
Start small if you're not sure
If this is your first suspension project, start with a leveling kit or a shock upgrade, live with it, then decide if you want to go further. Going straight to a coilover kit and matching control arms is a bigger job and a bigger bill, and it's easier to get right when you already know how your truck rides after the first change.
