A cold air intake swaps the factory airbox and filter for a bigger sealed box and a higher-flowing filter, feeding the turbo cooler, cleaner air. Expect better throttle response and a bit more turbo noise rather than a large power number.

why this one — This is S&B biggest published flow gain on any Super Duty kit at 57.30% over stock, and it carries CARB exemption D-590-46 for F-250 and F-350. One thing to get right when ordering: the original 75-5085 has been discontinued and superseded, so you want the dash-one part number 75-5085-1. As with the newer kit, F-450 and F-550 are not covered by the exemption.
