This is a catch can and a one way breather in one unit. Under boost, cylinder pressure pushes past the rings and builds up in the crankcase. The breather lets that excess pressure out while the can traps the oil vapor that comes with it, instead of sending it back through your intake.
why this one — The only true oil catch can UPR builds for the F-150 line, and it is Raptor R only. If you are making real boost on the supercharged 5.2L, crankcase pressure is a genuine problem rather than a theoretical one.
