A deeper cast aluminum pan that replaces the stamped steel factory transmission pan, holding 4.3 extra quarts of fluid and adding a drain plug and a magnet to catch metal.
why this one — This is the cheapest meaningful transmission upgrade on a Duramax, because more fluid means more thermal mass and slower heat buildup, and the drain plug means you can change fluid without dropping the pan and wearing it. It is not a substitute for a real cooler though. Extra fluid slows heat down, it does not remove it, so pair it with a cooler if you tow heavy. Gasket is sold separately.
