A lift pump sits in the fuel tank and pushes fuel forward to the high-pressure injection pump. This one replaces the whole factory in-tank sending unit assembly with a dual gerotor pump that holds 10 to 13 psi at idle.
why this one — The LML's CP4 injection pump fails when it runs starved or dry, and when it goes it sends metal debris through the entire fuel system, injectors included. Keeping positive pressure at the CP4 inlet so it is never starved is far cheaper insurance than a full fuel system replacement. Buy the right one and read this twice: this part number is the SHORT BED truck, long bed uses a different assembly, and Fleece states it is not compatible with S&B replacement fuel tanks.
