Headers replace the cast-iron exhaust manifolds bolted to the cylinder heads with smooth tubular pipes, so exhaust leaves the engine more freely. This is American Racing Headers' full long-tube system in 304 stainless with 1-3/4 inch primary tubes, a 3-inch merge collector and a catted Y-pipe, so the catalytic converters stay in the system.
why this one — ARH sells this same long system in two tube sizes at nearly the same price, and this is the smaller 1-3/4 inch version. ARH publishes no horsepower figure for either, and a long-tube swap is an 8-plus hour job most people hand to a shop and follow with a tune. One caveat before ordering: Sierra 1500 fitment was not confirmed for this specific part number.
