Headers replace the cast-iron exhaust manifolds on the cylinder heads with smooth tubular pipes so exhaust flows out more freely. These are American Racing Headers' long tubes in 304 stainless with 1-7/8 inch primaries, a 3-inch collector and a 200-cell catted Y-pipe, so the catalytic converters stay in place.
why this one — This is the larger-tube version of ARH's long system and it costs about $35 more than the 1-3/4 inch kit, which makes tube size the real decision rather than price. Unlike its smaller sibling, this part number is confirmed to fit the 5.3L Sierra 1500 as well as the Silverado.
