A stronger replacement for the two factory tie rods on the older LB7 through LMM trucks. The inner joint uses an oversized alloy ball and socket instead of the thinner factory piece, so it holds up better and lets the suspension move further before the joint binds.

why this one — This is the one for a first-generation Duramax; the 2011-and-up kits do not fit these trucks and the part numbers are genuinely different. On a twenty-year-old truck the tie rods are usually not the only tired part, so budget for an idler arm and ball joints in the same visit or you will still have a loose front end after this goes on.
