Ram, 1500, Gen 4 (DS/Classic) and Gen 5 (DT), 3.6L Pentastar V6, 5.7L HEMI V8, 3.0L EcoDiesel V6, 3.0L Hurricane Twin-Turbo I6, 6.2L Supercharged HEMI (TRX)

Pick-one comparison of Ram 1500 front bumpers, rear bumpers, and bull bars across ten brands, DS/Classic and DT body styles. Category gap: no prior guide covered Bumper (site-wide: 279 active parts, $1,811 avg price, highest-value uncovered category). Written for: rows 106, 108 (single-category comparison guides outperform multi-category stage builds; content-shape learnings). GSC shows recurring 'aev bumpers' / 'ram aev bumper' queries; catalog carries no AEV-branded Ram 1500 bumper, addressed honestly in the guide's closing section rather than skipped or faked.

Bumpers have never had a buyer's guide on this site, despite being one of the biggest single purchases you can make on a Ram 1500. This one covers what's actually in stock and priced right now: full front bumpers, bull bars, and rear bumpers, across ten different brands.

One thing to get straight before you start: this is a pick-one guide, not a build list. You're choosing one front-end piece, either a full bumper or a bull bar, not both. And separately, you're deciding whether you want a rear bumper too. Below is what's out there by type, ordered low to high within each section, so you can match the option to your truck and your budget.

RideBuildList earns commissions from some retailer links.

Full front bumper replacements

A full front bumper swap means pulling the factory plastic and bolting on steel or aluminum. Every listing below is either DS/Classic body (2013-2018) or DT/new body (2019-2026), so check your Ram's build year against the fitment before you buy anything.

The Rough Country Tubular Front Bumper w/ Skid Plate and D-Rings, Satin Black is the least expensive full front bumper in this guide, built for the 2019-2024 DT body. It comes with a skid plate and D-rings and keeps your factory proximity sensors working, which a lot of cheap tubular bumpers don't. Rough Country doesn't include a winch plate here, so if you want to run a winch, look elsewhere. The listing also spells out what it does not fit: Rebel trim, adaptive cruise control, active air dam, or EcoDiesel engines. That's a long exclusion list, so check your truck's options sheet against all four before ordering.

From Addictive Desert Designs, the Addictive Desert Designs 2019-2024 RAM 1500 Black Label Front Bumper covers 2019-2024 trucks. If you drive an older DS-body truck, they also sell the Addictive Desert Designs 2013-2018 RAM 1500 Stealth Fighter Front Bumper | Heritage, listed for 2013-2018. Iron Bull Bumpers has a comparable option built specifically with the Eco-Diesel V6 named in the fitment text: the Iron Bull Bumpers 2019 - 2024 RAM 1500 Front Bumper (Eco-Diesel Compatible), also 2019-2024.

At the top of the front bumper range, Iron Bull's Iron Bull Bumpers 2019-2024 RAM 1500 Rebel/Warlock Front Bumper is built for Rebel and Warlock trims, 2019-2024. If you're running a TRX specifically, Addictive Desert Designs makes the Addictive Desert Designs 2021-2024 Ram 1500 TRX Phantom Front Bumper, listed for 2021-2024 trucks with the 6.2L Supercharged HEMI. And if you want a grille guard rather than a full bumper swap, Westin's Westin Westin HDX 1-Piece Heavy Duty Grille Guard Polished Stainless Steel 57-4110 2025-2026 Ram 1500 is built for the new 2025-2026 body.

Bull bars: the budget-friendly middle ground

A bull bar bolts onto the factory bumper instead of replacing it. You lose some of the recovery-point and armor benefit of a full swap, but you save real money and skip a multi-hour install.

The Nilight Bull Bar with 17in Light Bar & Skid Plate (09-18 Ram 1500, 19-24 Classic) is the cheapest item in this whole guide. It bundles a 17-inch LED light bar and a skid plate, no drilling required, and fits 2009-2018 trucks plus the 2019-2024 Ram 1500 Classic. Nilight's own listing spells out what it doesn't cover:

  • Rebel trim
  • Sport trim
  • Trucks where the guard could block front-end sensors (Nilight's own warning, worth testing after install if your truck has front parking sensors)

For a bull bar with more built in, aFe Power's aFe Power Terra Guard Bull Bar w/ Hitch Receiver Ram 1500 (Dt) 19-26 covers the 2019-2026 DT-body trucks and adds a hitch receiver built into the bar itself.

Rear bumpers

Rear bumpers get less attention than front-end armor, but they're where your recovery points, and on some models, your backup sensors live.

The HAMMERHEAD Hammerhead Truck Rear Bumper 600-56-1106 2019-2024 Ram 1500 and the Rough Country Rough Country Rear Bumper LED for 2019-2024 Ram 1500 / 1500 TRX are the two most affordable rear bumpers here, both covering 2019-2024 trucks. The Rough Country piece is one of the few rear bumpers in this guide that specifically calls out TRX fitment alongside the standard trucks. Addictive Desert Designs sells two more: the Addictive Desert Designs 2019-2024 RAM 1500 Black Label Rear Bumper for standard 2019-2024 trucks, and the Addictive Desert Designs 2021-2024 RAM 1500 TRX Stealth Fighter Rear Bumper, built specifically for the TRX and its 6.2L Supercharged HEMI, with 6 backup sensors already built in.

What actually matters before you buy

  • Know your generation. This catalog splits Ram 1500 bumpers across the DS/Classic body (2013-2018) and the DT body (2019 and newer), with a further split for the 2025-2026 refresh. A bumper built for one will not bolt to the other.
  • TRX is its own thing. Several listings here are written specifically for the TRX and its 6.2L Supercharged HEMI. Don't assume a "Ram 1500" bumper fits your performance trim without checking the listing's own fitment text.
  • Weight changes how the truck sits. Every full steel bumper swap in this guide carries the same plain note from the listings themselves: a heavy front bumper can change ride height and may call for a suspension adjustment to match. That's not a Ram-specific quirk, it's physics.
  • Sensors and cruise control are the quiet dealbreaker. More than one bull bar and bumper in this guide explicitly warns it can interfere with adaptive cruise control or front parking sensors. If your truck has either, read the fitment notes before you buy, not after.
  • Install is a two-person job for a full bumper. Every full bumper swap listed here runs roughly 3 to 5 hours with two people. The bull bars are faster, around 1.5 to 2.5 hours, and neither Nilight option requires drilling.

One brand you won't find here yet

If you came looking for AEV, this catalog doesn't carry an AEV-branded bumper for the Ram 1500 right now. What it does carry, across ten different brands from budget bull bars to TRX-specific armor, is everything above. Check back, or reach out if you want a specific brand added.

Fitment notes above come straight from each listing itself, not from a guess. Always confirm exact fitment, and whether a bumper swap affects a factory warranty or an installed safety system, with the seller or a qualified shop before you buy. Nothing here is legal or safety advice.
