Three bolt-on aluminium plates that shield the engine sump, the transmission and catalytic converter, and the transfer case from rocks and stumps. They are cut from quarter-inch 5052 aluminium and ship as bare metal rather than painted.
why this one — Aluminium instead of steel is the whole argument here: quarter-inch 5052 takes a hit and keeps its shape without hanging steel-plate weight off the front of a half-ton truck that already carries a lot of nose weight. Buying the three-piece package rather than the engine skid alone matters on this truck because the transfer case is the part people actually tear open. Be realistic about the downsides: it ships bare so it will oxidise unless you coat it, it is made to order with a 1 to 2 week wait, and Talons Garage only confirms the fit on 5.7L 4x4 trucks.
