A cold air intake replaces the factory airbox, tubing and filter. K&N's Blackhawk is a fully boxed kit, with an aluminum intake tube and the filter enclosed in its own housing away from engine bay heat.
why this one — The most expensive intake here at $524.99, and the only one claiming a big torque number, +24.8 lb-ft against +12.8 hp, from K&N's own dyno testing. Two things to check first: the retailer listing covers the Silverado only and never states Sierra 1500 fitment, and those figures had to be read off that retailer page because K&N's own site blocked direct checking.
