A digital gauge that plugs into your truck OBDII port and shows engine data the factory dash never displays, things like turbo boost pressure, exhaust gas temperature and transmission temperature. The DataMonster version also records up to 100 values at once to a microSD card so you can look at what happened after a tow.

why this one — If you tow heavy or you are adding power parts, watching exhaust gas temperature is the single cheapest way to avoid an expensive mistake, and this reads it without drilling a probe into your exhaust manifold. One unit covers any 2008 or newer truck, so it moves with you. The honest downsides are that OBDII-derived readings update slightly slower than a dedicated hard-wired sensor, and at $419.00 it costs more than a basic single-function gauge that does one job well.

A gauge measures, it does not add power. Banks publishes over 300 readable OBDII parameters and up to 100 logged simultaneously. source ↗
