A throttle controller sits between the accelerator pedal and the truck computer and changes how quickly your pedal input turns into torque. It does not add power. What it removes is the dead spot you feel in the first inch of pedal travel on a stock diesel.
why this one — Most throttle controllers simply multiply the pedal signal, which makes the truck feel twitchy rather than genuinely quicker. Banks reads live engine data instead and offers 30 response curves plus five low-speed launch trims, and it includes a reverse-safety feature that softens response when you shift into reverse, which matters when you are backing a trailer. It is 50-state compliant and takes about half an hour. Just be clear on the deal: zero horsepower is added, so if you want a dyno gain, buy a tuner instead.
- Requires: Banks lists 2011-2020 Ford F-250/F-350/F-450/F-550 6.7L Power Stroke. Scoped here to 2011-2019 so the engine fitment does not overstate coverage into 2021-2022.
