This is the complete front half of an exhaust system: long tube headers to replace the factory manifolds, plus the Y-pipe that carries both banks back into one pipe. The Y-pipe in this kit keeps catalytic converters in place rather than leaving you to source them separately.
why this one — Buy this one instead of bare headers if you do not want a second parts order and a second trip to the shop, because the matching Y-pipe is already in the box and the catalytic converters stay in the system. The downsides are the price, which is roughly two and a half times the bare header kit, and a 4-6 week build-to-order wait. Kooks publishes no CARB EO number for it, and their own page carries California language restricting aftermarket exhaust parts to racing vehicles on closed courses, so check what your state requires before you buy.
