A cold air intake replaces the factory airbox with a larger filter in a sealed housing so the turbos can pull more air. This is the oiled cotton-gauze Pro 5R filter version.
why this one — This is one of the very first real bolt-on parts available for the new Hurricane six-cylinder, and aFe claims one of the largest intake gains in their catalogue for it (+23 hp / +42 lb-ft on their own dyno). Turbo engines generally respond better to intake work than naturally aspirated ones.
CLAIMED (manufacturer dyno) - afepower.com product page states "+23 HP and +42 lb-ft torque", "625 CFM @ 7in H2O", "outflows factory intake by 36%". aFe's own dyno figure, no independent verification found this pass.
