Not published for this specific SKU (Banks cites ~1.5 hrs for the related 2017-2019 SKU; not confirmed identical for this one - not assumed)
pairs with: Intake, Suspension
number source
A 5-inch stainless steel exhaust system that replaces everything from the diesel particulate filter (DPF) back, improving flow versus the stock 4-inch system while leaving the DPF, catalyst, and DEF/SCR system completely stock.
why this one: This is the only true 5-inch DPF-back system Banks publishes for the 2024-2026 L5P, and its patented Exhaust Pressure Control Module (U.S. Patent 12618353) is a documented, SKU-specific feature (prevents false power-derate codes) rather than a generic pipe swap.

A 5-inch stainless steel DPF-back exhaust with Banks patented SideKick tip design, for Single Rear Wheel 2020-2022 L5P trucks.
why this one: Banks specific claim of 89% less backpressure at the DPF and a 15% exhaust-temperature reduction during regen is sourced directly to this SKUs own product page, not a generic series-wide number.

A 5-inch stainless steel DPF-back exhaust with a patented obround slash-cut tip, covering all 2017-2019 L5P cab/bed configurations including dually (DRW) models.
why this one: Unlike the 2020-2022/2024-2026 SKUs, this one explicitly covers DCSB/DCLB/CCSB/CCLB configurations AND dually (SRW+DRW) models per Banks own fitment table - the broadest single-SKU coverage found for any year range this session, and compatible with stock/aftermarket fifth wheels and airbags per the same page.

Approximately 1.5 hours per Banks own install-time estimate; described as straightforward, simple tools
pairs with: Intake, Suspension

A 5-inch stainless steel DPF-back exhaust with SideKick tip, covering 2011-2015 Silverado/Sierra 2500/3500 (all cab/bed configs except Single Cab Long Bed) plus 2016 2500 only.
why this one: This single SKU is the only Banks DPF-back option found spanning both the GMT900 (2011-2014) and K2 (2015-2016) HD chassis generations for the same LML engine - Banks own fitment table does not split by chassis, only by cab/bed config and a 2016-3500-specific caveat, which is noted rather than assumed away.

12+ hrs shop (heads must come off)
pairs with: Tune, Head gaskets
number source
Head studs replace the factory head bolts that clamp the cylinder heads to the engine block. Studs pull straighter and hold more clamping force than bolts, which keeps the head gasket sealed when cylinder pressure climbs.
why this one: This is the standard answer on a Duramax that has been tuned or turned up, because the factory torque-to-yield bolts start letting the heads lift and push gaskets once boost climbs. One kit covers 2001-2016 in ARP2000 material rated at 220,000 psi tensile. The downside is brutal and worth saying plainly: the cylinder heads have to come off to fit them, so this is a shop job measured in days, and the smart time to do it is when the heads are already off for something else.

pairs with: Deep transmission pan, Tune
number source
A direct-fit replacement for the factory transmission cooler on the 2017-2019 L5P, built as a 13-row stacked-plate core to pull more heat out of the Allison's fluid.
why this one: Pick this over a bar-and-plate cooler if you want the easier install and a warranty you can actually use, since Mishimoto rates it an easy install and backs it with their lifetime warranty. Two honest catches: Silverado grilles need minor trimming to clear it, and Mishimoto publishes core volume and fin area gains but no measured temperature drop, so you are buying on spec sheet rather than test data.

pairs with: Deep transmission pan, Tune
number source
A transmission cooler is a small radiator that keeps the Allison's fluid from overheating when you tow. This one replaces the factory cooler with a much thicker bar-and-plate core and bolts to the stock mounting points.
why this one: PPE publishes hard numbers for this one instead of adjectives: a 395 cubic inch core, 3.28 times the stock volume, 80 percent more frontal area, and up to 45F lower fluid temperature. The downside is bulk. It is a thick core sitting in front of the radiator and condenser, so it packs with bugs and road grit faster than stock and needs blowing out.

pairs with: Transmission cooler
number source
A deeper cast aluminum pan that replaces the stamped steel factory transmission pan, holding 4.3 extra quarts of fluid and adding a drain plug and a magnet to catch metal.
why this one: This is the cheapest meaningful transmission upgrade on a Duramax, because more fluid means more thermal mass and slower heat buildup, and the drain plug means you can change fluid without dropping the pan and wearing it. It is not a substitute for a real cooler though. Extra fluid slows heat down, it does not remove it, so pair it with a cooler if you tow heavy. Gasket is sold separately.

Fog Light

install
30 to 60 minutes per Diode Dynamics
pairs with: Headlight, Light Bar
number source
Replaces the factory fog lamps with 3-inch LED pods that bolt into the same spot. The kit ships with truck-specific brackets and H11 adapters that plug into your existing fog light sockets, so there is no cutting and no extra wiring. Diode Dynamics offers the same kit in Sport, Pro and Max output levels; this is the middle one.
why this one: The easiest real lighting upgrade on this truck, because it uses the factory fog opening, the factory switch and the factory plug. Choose the Pro over the cheaper Sport if you actually drive dark rural roads; step up to the Max only if you want the brightest and will accept the higher price. The important limitation is in Diode Dynamics' own wording: this is a replacement for OEM fog lamps, so a truck that never had fog lights needs their standalone wiring harness on top.

Fuel System

protects power, no gain
install
~4 hrs
pairs with: Fuel filter, CP3 conversion
number source
A lift pump sits in the fuel tank and pushes fuel forward to the high-pressure injection pump. This one replaces the whole factory in-tank sending unit assembly with a dual gerotor pump that holds 10 to 13 psi at idle.
why this one: The LML's CP4 injection pump fails when it runs starved or dry, and when it goes it sends metal debris through the entire fuel system, injectors included. Keeping positive pressure at the CP4 inlet so it is never starved is far cheaper insurance than a full fuel system replacement. Buy the right one and read this twice: this part number is the SHORT BED truck, long bed uses a different assembly, and Fleece states it is not compatible with S&B replacement fuel tanks.

Fleece Performance CP3 Conversion Kit with CP3 Pump (FPE-LML-CP3-WP)
fits 6.6L Duramax V8 (LML)
protects power, no gain

6-8 hrs
pairs with: Lift pump
number source
This kit takes out the LML's factory CP4 high-pressure fuel pump and puts in the older Bosch CP3 pump instead, with an adapter, preformed fuel hoses, high-flow fittings, a dosing injector distribution block and a wiring extension so everything bolts up.
why this one: A lift pump lowers the odds the CP4 fails. This eliminates the CP4 entirely. The CP3 is the pump Duramax used before 2011 and it does not have the CP4's habit of grenading itself and filling the fuel system with metal, so this is the permanent fix rather than a mitigation. Two things make it worth the money over a bare pump swap: it carries CARB EO D-834-1 so it stays 50-state legal, and Fleece states no tuning is required to run it. It is expensive and it is a full day under the hood, so it makes the most sense on a truck you plan to keep.

PPE High-Flow Exhaust Manifold and Up-Pipe Kit
fits 6.6L Duramax V8 (LBZ)

6-8 hrs
pairs with: Turbos, Tune
number source
Exhaust manifolds and up-pipes are the pipes that carry exhaust from the cylinder heads into the turbo. This kit replaces both sides with cast high-silicon moly iron manifolds and internally sleeved 304 stainless up-pipes.
why this one: Factory Duramax up-pipes use a bellows joint that cracks and leaks as it ages and heat-cycles, which costs you boost and makes the truck sound like it has an exhaust leak, because it does. This kit fixes that failure point and opens up flow at the same time. Be clear-eyed about it though: PPE publishes no hp or EGT number for this kit, so treat it as a repair-and-improve part rather than a power part, and the manifolds sit buried against the firewall so it is a knuckle-busting job.

A full replacement headlight housing with LED projectors inside, plus an LED tube daytime running light, a sequential turn signal and a startup animation. AlphaRex builds these for trucks that came with factory halogen headlights, and states the units are DOT and SAE compliant with a proper cut-off line so they light the road without blinding oncoming traffic.
why this one: The premium option if you want the projector-and-light-tube look and want it to be street legal, which is what separates AlphaRex from cheap eBay-grade housings that scatter light everywhere. Two things to check before you buy: AlphaRex lists these as replacing factory halogen headlights, so an LED-equipped truck is a different conversation, and at $1,295 this is roughly twice the price of the ANZO projector set already in the catalog for the same years.

A projector-style headlight assembly with an LED accent bar and LED parking light around a halogen (H7 low/H3 high) projector, for the K2-platform HD truck body.
why this one: ANZOs own page explicitly restricts this to "Halogen Models Only" and states it "does not fit models with OE LED Headlight system" - a real, sourced fitment restriction carried into this rows scope rather than glossed over.

A projector-style headlight assembly (H7 low/H1 high beam halogen) with an LED accent bar and LED parking light, black housing with clear lens, for the GMT900-era HD truck body.
why this one: Fills the oldest engine-generation lighting gap in this catalog (GMT900 HD, LMM/LML era, 2007-2014) - the same plank-style design family as the newer K2-era part (LT-ANZO-111359-1519) but a distinct SKU/price for the older body style, confirmed via ANZOs own dedicated Silverado 2500HD/3500HD collection page.

~1 hr
pairs with: Intercooler, Cat-Back
number source
A cold air intake replaces the factory airbox and filter with a larger, less restrictive filter inside a sealed housing, so the turbo draws air more freely and you hear more of it.
why this one: S&B is the pick here if you care about filtration as much as flow, because they publish both numbers for this exact kit rather than just the flashy one: 53.06 percent more airflow and 99.27 percent filtration efficiency. It also carries CARB Exempt ID D-590-15, so it stays street legal in all 50 states, which not every intake on this truck can say. The honest tradeoff is that no horsepower figure is published, and on a stock-tuned diesel an intake mostly buys you sound and airflow headroom for later rather than a number today.

An intercooler cools the compressed air coming out of the turbo before it enters the engine, and cooler air is denser air. This one replaces the factory unit with an all-aluminum core and two cast aluminum end tanks.
why this one: The real reason to do this on an 06-10 is the factory plastic end tank, which can split under raised boost and dump your charge air in one go. Banks replaces both end tanks with aluminum and adds 25 percent more core flow volume, so you fix the failure point and gain flow in the same job. Be realistic about the effort and the payoff: Banks own estimate is 6 hours with the front end apart, and they publish no horsepower number for it, so this is insurance and consistency rather than a dyno gain.

pairs with: Fog Light, Taillight
number source
A pair of small LED pods mounted at the rear of the truck to light up where you are backing into. The factory reverse lights on an HD are weak, which is the usual complaint when you are hitching a gooseneck or backing a trailer into a dark spot. The kit includes the pods, stainless mounting hardware and a wiring harness. Baja Designs rates each pod at 1,581 lumens with a wide cornering beam.
why this one: The most useful lighting purchase for anyone who tows after dark, and it is the cheapest lighting item here. It aims a genuinely wide spread right behind the bumper rather than throwing a spot down the road. The trade-offs are that it is rear-facing only so it does nothing for driving at night, and unlike the plug-and-play fog kit you are routing a harness the length of the truck, which is why this is the longer install of the two.

Replaces both tie rods and the center link that ties them together, all in one kit. Cognito changes the inner joint from the factory ball-and-socket design to a radial-loaded joint, which is the direction the load actually pushes when you turn a heavy front end on big tires.
why this one: Pick this over a tie-rod-only kit when the whole front steering assembly is already worn, or when you are running 35s and a lift and want to stop chasing steering slop for good. It costs roughly twice what a tie-rod-only kit does and is more work to install since the center link comes out too, so it is overkill on a stock-height truck with tight factory parts.

A stronger replacement for the two factory tie rods on the older LB7 through LMM trucks. The inner joint uses an oversized alloy ball and socket instead of the thinner factory piece, so it holds up better and lets the suspension move further before the joint binds.
why this one: This is the one for a first-generation Duramax; the 2011-and-up kits do not fit these trucks and the part numbers are genuinely different. On a twenty-year-old truck the tie rods are usually not the only tired part, so budget for an idler arm and ball joints in the same visit or you will still have a loose front end after this goes on.

These trucks use torsion bars up front, so the kit works by cranking the torsion keys and correcting the geometry with new upper control arms and front shock spacers. Cognito rates it for a 33x12.50 tire on a 9-inch wheel with 5 inches of backspacing.
why this one: Choose this over a cheap crank-only leveling kit because the included upper control arms fix the ball joint angle that torsion cranking throws off, which is what kills ball joints and ride quality on cranked trucks. The trade-off is money and time: a bare torsion key kit costs a fraction of this and installs in an hour. This one is for owners who plan to keep the truck and drive it loaded.

The same idea as the 2011-2019 kit but built for the 2020-and-up body style: 3 inches of front lift using ball joint upper control arms, a torsion bar adjuster key kit and front shock spacers. Cognito rates this one for a larger 35x12.50 tire on a 9-inch wheel with 5 inches of backspacing.
why this one: This is the correct part number if your truck is the 2020-or-newer body; the 2011-2019 kit will not bolt on. Compared to that older kit it is cheaper and clears a bigger tire, but it uses standard upper control arms rather than the SM Series arms Cognito sells alongside it, so if you want the beefier arms you pay more for the SM version.

Replaces the left and right factory torsion bars with softer-rate bars. Torsion bars are what hold the front of a 3/4-ton truck up, and the factory ones are stiff enough that an unloaded truck rides harshly over small bumps. Softer bars let the front suspension actually move on rough pavement.
why this one: The only item in this list that makes an empty HD ride better rather than making it sit higher or hold up harder. It is also the shortest install here at Cognito's claimed one hour. The honest downside is that a softer spring rate is a softer spring rate: if you routinely run a heavy front-mounted plow or a big bumper and winch, stay on the factory bars.

Bars that run from the frame to the rear axle to stop axle wrap. Axle wrap is when hard throttle twists the rear axle against the leaf springs, which you feel as a hop or a bang under load. Cognito builds these from boxed sheet metal and makes them adjustable after they are bolted on so you can dial in the pinion angle.
why this one: Only worth buying if you actually have the problem, which on a Duramax usually means a tuned truck, big tires, or heavy towing off the line. Cognito's version is adjustable after install and does not restrict suspension travel the way a cheap bolt-on bar can, but at roughly $1,750 it is the most expensive part on this list by a wide margin. A stock-power truck with factory tires will not notice the difference.

Not published by Fox; a rear shock swap on this truck is typically under an hour per side with hand tools
pairs with: Suspension, Tire
number source
A monotube rear shock that replaces the factory unit on a stock-height or barely-lifted truck. Fox sells it as a single shock, so you buy two for the rear axle. A monotube design keeps the oil and gas separated, which is why it fades less than a worn factory shock when you are towing on a rough road.
why this one: The straightforward rear upgrade for a truck that is not lifted, since it is valved for the 0 to 1 inch range and needs no other parts. It is also the cheapest Fox on this list. What it does not do is give you any adjustment: there is no reservoir and no external knob, so if you want to tune the ride you want the Performance Elite 2.5 instead.

Not published by Fox; front shock work on an HD plus the required aftermarket upper control arm is realistically a full day, and Fox notes an aftermarket upper control arm is required
pairs with: Suspension, Tire, Wheel
number source
A front shock with a separate oil reservoir and an external DSC knob you can turn to make the ride firmer or softer. The extra reservoir gives the oil somewhere to go and somewhere to shed heat, so the damping stays consistent on long washboard roads instead of going soft. Fox lists it for trucks running 1.5 to 2.5 inches of front lift.
why this one: The pick if you already run a leveling kit on a 2020-or-newer HD and want to tune the ride yourself rather than accept whatever a fixed shock gives you. Two honest catches: Fox states an aftermarket upper control arm is required, which is an extra purchase on top of an already expensive shock, and at roughly $1,680 this is a serious spend for a truck that mostly sees pavement.

The two rods that connect your steering box to the front wheels, replaced with much stronger units. The factory rods on these trucks are a known weak point and can bend or wear out, which shows up as loose, wandering steering and uneven tire wear. Kryptonite uses a solid 1-1/4 inch hex steel body with heat-treated chromoly outer studs.
why this one: The cheapest way to fix the single most common steering complaint on a Duramax HD, because it swaps only the two rods and reuses your factory center link. Kryptonite states these are pre-greased and need re-greasing every 5,000 to 7,000 miles, so if you would rather never touch a grease gun again this is the wrong pick. It also does nothing for a worn center link or idler arm, so if those are already sloppy you need the bigger kit instead.

Forged torsion keys that re-index the factory front torsion bars about 2 inches higher, leveling the front end with a loaded rear bed without touching springs or shocks.
why this one: Uses the factory OE torsion keys (works with OE part numbers 84461807 or 84634344) rather than a full replacement, and ReadyLift explicitly rates it to support up to 35-inch tires (20x9 +18 to 0 offset) - a specific, sourced compatibility spec rather than a generic "fits 35s" claim.

Full LED replacement tail lights with C-shaped light rings and claw-shaped tubes, a sequential turn signal and a startup animation. AlphaRex sells them in several configurations depending on whether your truck left the factory with halogen or LED tail lights, and 2024-and-newer trucks need a different converter than 2020-2023 trucks.
why this one: The upgrade pick over the ANZO tail lights already in the catalog for these years, mainly for the switchable red-to-amber turn signal and the LUXX light signature. The catch is the ordering: AlphaRex lists five converter options at the base price plus $65 to $105, and picking the wrong one for your year and factory bulb type means bulb-out warnings on the dash. Know whether your truck has halogen or LED tails before you order.

An aggressive mud-terrain tire with reinforced sidewalls, in the heavier-duty 121/118Q Load Range E carcass rating (versus a lighter 116/113Q version of the same size/tread also sold by Falken).
why this one: This session specifically sourced the 121/118Q Load Range E version of this size (MPN 28516612) rather than the lighter 116/113Q version (MPN 59000360, ~$85 cheaper) also found at the same retailer, since Load Range E is the correct rating for HD truck GVWR - a deliberate, sourced choice rather than picking the cheapest listing.
